Sidney Bechet was the first master of jazz improvisation and a huge influence to some of the greatest names in jazz. Duke Ellington once said of him, "Bechet to me was the epitome of jazz. Everything he played in his whole life is completely original. I honestly think he was the most unique man ever to be in this music". This 4CD set is a survey of his career.
